I think the large is perfect. I got this for my dad and he's got a lot of muscle, and it fits perfectly. He loves it. He says it's very comfortable, not too heavy or too light, and he hasn't had any problems so far today, as he and I both react to nickle very quickly. He hasn't had any problems at all, definitely worth the $8. :)
